2016 MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN

The Institute for Intrapreneurship is open for membership!

Individual association:

Role:  The Institute is principally an association of individual contributors, where appropriate participation is supported, endorsed or sponsored by institutions.  The Institute pools and focuses resources, intellectual property (IP) and interests to rapidly learn what does, and does not work in the changed economy.  While a platform to inform, fund and expedite research The Institute is market engaged and deploys services and solutions developed using intrapreneurial precepts.  Its purpose is first to experiment, then drive understanding and influence (i.e. content and IP) to practical impact.  It is not a think tank.

Membership:  To do this, SPG is recruiting certain established leaders of business, academia and government who are at the height of their careers, have succeeded in a variety of business models and recognize the need for different solutions to sustain business growth in a changed economy.  They are to establish the agenda, identify qualified opportunities, share IP, help source resources, review and critique, and publicize results.

Contribution:   Participation involves modest and delimited commitments of time, endorsement and appropriate references, strategic and tactical direction of effort, and willingness to share – experience, thought leadership and access to IP. Financial contribution is not required or expected. Funding advice and introduction to funding resources will be accepted.

Enterprise affiliation:

Role:  By supporting associated individuals, enterprises, including corporations, universities and governmental agencies, become affiliated with The Institute.  Affiliates determine levels of commitment and forms of participation.  The options range from tacit support to invested contributor of resources, including people, IP and working and investment capital.

Membership:  SPG is recruiting certain research and teaching universities, economic development agencies, investment groups and businesses.  Enterprises are to influence the agenda and, depending on level of participation, support the activities of The Institute.  In addition, affiliates have advantaged access to The Institute resources, services and results.

Contribution:   Participation involves contribution of working capital in the form of annual subscriptions.  Rates are graduated to reflect three levels of commitment and benefit.  In addition, enterprise affiliates are invited to invest in the form Royalty Based Financing, where capital is returned as a royalty on revenue.  Lastly, affiliates have rights of first participation in investment opportunities, or gain share activities of the Institute.

 Institute form and function:

Form:  The Institute is a member owned Limited Liability Corporation.  The Institute is market facing and profit making.  It is the center of a ‘hub and spoke’ network of individuals and affiliated organizations, both profit and not-for-profit.  The Institute may, in the future, establish additional relationships, including joint ventures, wholly owned subsidiaries, or non-profit 501(C)3 organizations.

Function:  Chartered to develop compelling answers to the problem of stalled growth and methodologies for implementation, The Institute is a research, advisory, education, publishing and conference organization.  Working across its network the objective is to develop hypothesis regarding the application of intrapreneurship, experiment to see what works in the ‘real’ world, define required organizational structural changes, and establish, practice and then publish the results.  The goal is to pioneer and share effective intrapreneurial skills and management techniques.

The Institute is patterned after successful models i.e. – The Lean Institute; and the Dartmouth Institute for Health Care Policy & Clinical Practice.
